Giving day is a UW tradition and is instrumental in funding programs and departments to serve our students here at UW. This year, Campus Recreation is seeking donations in four major areas. Each of these areas has a goal of receiving 24 $24 donations within the Giving Day period. Read each section below to learn more about where these funds will go and who they will benefit.
Donations to the Wellness Center will support essential educational programming and student wellness resources. The current pandemic has shed further light on the importance of wellness to student success. The Wellness Center supports all UW students by creating a culture of wellness and offering resources and programs to support students in their pursuit of holistic well-being.
The Outdoor Program is a great student resource that helps students to get outside, explore nature, and experience different forms of outdoor recreation. This year’s Giving Day donations will support four major areas of the Outdoor Program: the indoor climbing wall, the rental resource center, leadership development courses, and seasonal outings, clinics and programs. Campus Recreation Student Development Fund
This fund will support the development of Campus Recreation student employees through attendance of regional and national conferences, guest speakers, and support of special certifications in different areas of student expertise. Investing in the development and continued growth and learning of student employees will advance Campus Recreation and .
Club Sports Campaign
The Club Sports Campaign will support any one of our 20 different club sports teams. These groups are student led and directed, providing invaluable leadership experience. The majority of each club sports’ budget comes from individual fundraising that contributes to travel expense, equipment, and uniform needs. Giving Day donations can help support these athletes and relieve the burden on each individual student.
